Free Virtual Workshop for Teachers:
Eco-Modeling for Earth Day: Memorable Lessons for K-8 Learners
April 15, 2021, 4:30-5:30pm ET
Developing and using models is a key practice in the NGSS standards and this Earth Day, PopEd will be helping teachers infuse this highly effective strategy into Earth Day lessons. Through a one-hour webinar for K-8 teachers, we will share ideas and lesson plans that engage students in interactive eco-modeling to investigate environmental phenomena like carrying capacity, balanced ecosystems, habitat destruction, and the concept of “the commons.” Working with models allows students to both visualize complex ecosystem dynamics as well as test out possible solutions to environmental problems.
Join PopEd’s staff on Thursday, April 15th at 4:30 ET for this FREE webinar, just in time for Earth Day. You will walk away with memorable, classroom-ready lessons and tools as well as specific strategies for implementation. And with the activities being easily modified for virtual or blended classrooms, we’ll have plenty for folks who are teaching remotely and in-person alike. Sign-up now!
All participants will receive:
- Access to an online library of elementary lesson plans, children’s book lists, multimedia, service learning project ideas and more.
- Certificate of completion, showing 1-hour virtual PD
- Access to all online tools such as pre-made templates and distance learning instructions
We’re excited to share these fun, student-centered lesson plans on April 15th and can't wait to see you there. Your students and the planet will thank you!
